Practical Ideas for business owners and leaders.

Every book, article and resource on this page is drawn from real-world experience helping business owners navigate growth, acquisitions, succession, leadership and business sales.

Whether you’re preparing for your next major decision or simply looking for fresh ideas, I hope you’ll find something here that helps.

Why I Write

People often ask why I write books.

The answer is simple.

After more than 35 years advising businesses, I realised that many owners face the same challenges. They want to build stronger businesses, make better decisions and create more options for the future, but practical advice is often difficult to find.

Writing allows me to share the lessons I’ve learned with a wider audience. Every recommendation comes from real businesses, real situations and real experience—not theory.

If the books help you solve a problem, that’s wonderful.

If they encourage us to have a conversation about your business, even better.

Building Business Value

Fit to Sell

Build a business buyers want to buy

Whether you’re planning to sell next year or in ten years’ time, the principles are the same. Learn what buyers really value, how to increase the attractiveness of your business and how to maximise your future options.

Deal Finance

Understanding the financial side of buying, selling and growing businesses.

Originally written to help business owners understand the mechanics of corporate transactions, Deal Finance provides practical guidance on acquisitions, valuations, raising finance and preparing for sale.

Leadership Collection

Over the past few years I’ve written a series of practical leadership books exploring the skills modern leaders need most.

Every business is different.

Books are a great place to start.

Sometimes, however, there’s no substitute for discussing your own business with someone who has seen similar challenges before.

If you’re considering growth, acquisition, succession or an eventual exit, I’d be delighted to have an initial conversation.
